Delete your account
You can delete your Atsuma account from inside the app, or ask us to do it here if you no longer have the app installed.
If you have the app
Open Atsuma and go to Settings → Delete Account. It happens straight away and you will see exactly what will be removed before you confirm. That is the fastest route.
If you do not have the app
Fill in the form below with the email address on the account. We will confirm it belongs to you before deleting anything, then delete the account and reply to say it is done. Expect that within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your account. You will not be able to sign in again.
- Your profile — name, username, photo and bio.
- Every photo you added to any album, including albums other people own. Those people will lose them and cannot get them back.
- Your posts, stories, reactions, comments and notifications.
- Events you created, along with their albums and invitations.
What stays, and why
Some of what you added to a shared group stays, because removing it would break the record for other people:
- Expenses and settlements — and your name stays on them. Other members' balances are calculated from these entries, and a balance is only useful if you can see whose it is. “Deleted User owes you ¥12,000” is not something anyone can settle. So the entry keeps the name you used, with no account behind it — the same as a person added to a group by name who never signed up.
- Messages in group chats. They stay in the conversation for the people still in it, shown as sent by “Deleted User”.
Everywhere other than shared expenses — group chats, posts, comments, your profile — your name is replaced with “Deleted User”.
This cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no way to recover the account afterwards. If you only want to stop notifications or take a break, email us instead — we would rather help you do that.
